Geography
Ireland is composed of Eire and Northen Ireland. Eire is a republic since 1921 and composed of 26 county. Northen Ireland is a part of Great britain.
Ireland is divided into four areas :
- Leinster : Leinster is east area of Ireland and is composed of 12 counties which cover 19 774 km² and the population is around 2.1 millions (in 2002). This area is the most important in population because it's near of 50 % of the Ireland, and generate a great part of the GNP. Dublin is the capital with 1.5 millions of people, it's the first city of Ireland.
- Munster : south west area of Ireland, is the second most important area with the city of Limerick and Cork (two cities very famous for their university). Population is around 1.1 millions and supercify is 24 607 km².
- Ulster : north area of Ireland, Ulster is principally composed of Northen Ireland and three counties of Eire. The main cities are Belfast and Derry (LondonDerry for Great Britain). With a population of 2 millions people and a superficy of 24 481 km² is main area but divided into two countries.
- Connaught : west area of Ireland, Connaught is the smallest area with only a superficy of 17 000 km² and the less populate with 0.4 millions people. The main cities are Galway and Sligo. This area is composed of several Gaeltacht areas (Irish-speaking region).
Climat
Climat is very changing in Ireland. In 10 minutes you can thought from rain to sun, warm to cold... However summer is one of the best season to travel in Ireland, because all trees are green, flowers everywhere... In winter the coast are very beautiful after a storm. But be carefull, cliffs are very dangerous.
One thing does not change in winter, spring, summer and autumn : there is always some wind !

- from december to march : between 4°C to 10°C
- from april to june : between 10°C to 15°C
- from june to september : between 10° to 20°C
- from septembre to december : between 6° to 12°C
